A good opportunity
The Emerging Writers Network has announced the 2nd Annual EWN Short Fiction Contest.
Update: As you can see from the comments below, Dan Wickett of Emerging Writers has clarified for us that genre is not limited as he is looking for "great stories that are
well written." Thanks, Dan!

What genre of fiction? Any?
Scott, I get the feeling it's aimed at literary short fiction, though the piece I'll be entering has a foot in the "magical realism" camp.
It is "aimed" at Literary Short Fiction. However, as a fan of what Matt Cheney and the VanDemeer's have done with the new Best American Fantasy 2007 collection, I'm mainly looking for great stories that are well written.
